City Blocks

City Blocks

UPDATE

You can play the finished game now using either the .zip or the .exe files that we’ve created. We’re sure your computer security will say there is a virus, simply because it is an .exe file, but there is nothing, We promise! We’d let you play the HTML5 version, but as you can see at the bottom of this post, it is not working so well. If you really don’t trust us, you can also download the game from a more trusted website. Any feedback, good or bad, will be very beneficial to us on future projects.

The game City Blocks is finally finished! It only took us 3 months.. We may have missed the contest deadline we were trying to enter, but at least we can say we finished it.  The game is basically a mix of Frogger and Bomber Man set in a rundown city environment. The controls and idea are very simple. You can use either the arrow keys OR the W/A/S/D keys to control the targeting selector. The goal is to collect as many points as possible, using the resources provided to you, while at the same time, avoiding the dangers of the city.

Below are some examples of the game play. The second video shows what the entire board of the game looks like without any resolution view restraints.

This next video shows the making of the game. Well, not really the making of, just the behind the scenes of how we used GM Studio to complete the game.

 BOMB ERROR

We’ve been working on City Blocks for a while now and when David changing some options, he accidentally messed up the spawning of the bombs. This is the hilarious result.
Here are some screen shots of the game as well.
